At best, once you fix it up, you figure out what Illinois requires for a bonded title, and then jump through hoops to get it (it may require buying insurance just for the title). Which means I wouldn't touch it as you describe it, and if you lied and just said it was found on some property you bought, I'd still buy it for a salvage price just for parts. However, you have a legally dubious ownership. Value of it, in running condition, with a clean title, is probably less than $1,000 (source: in Minnesota, browse Craigslist, but I am cheap - I expect about $700 would be a price I'd buy it for). My uncles are all Mechanics but our Relationship isn’t good enough where I feel comfortable asking for help, just tools.
TL DR: Need someone to tell me the Value of this 77 Puch Moped in its current condition and what it might cost to repair whatever it needs repaired. If the repairs sound like stuff I can do on my own and won’t cost me an arm and a leg I’ll fix it but if not I’ll most likely sell it and I want to see what someone who knows about them would value it in its condition. I’m looking for someone who might have some know how on how the bike operates or what parts it might need to get running and such and where I can get these.
Our original plan was to fix it up and use it to get around and have fun but due to life we haven’t and probably won’t be doing that anymore.
